School Closure

Dear GSIC Families,

I hope this finds you and your family safe, healthy, and doing well. As many of you are already aware, Governor Kemp has closed all Georgia schools for the rest of the year.  Although our building is closed and school activities are canceled, learning will continue for our GSIC students.  As we continue to make our way through these uncharted waters, we continue to adjust, adapt, and persevere.

We are very proud of our parents, students, and faculty for their resilience and commitment to learning.  We know that this has been a big adjustment for everyone, but we want to commend you all for your efforts in providing meaningful learning opportunities for our students.  As always, GSIC is committed to providing all the resources and support possible to help facilitate the continuation of distant learning and helping our students start the next school year well-prepared and ready to succeed!

Some families have asked about monies that were paid for lunches, field trips, early care, after care, etc. This money will be rolled over for next year and will be credited to the student for whom it was paid.  If for some reason you need the money reimbursed, we ask you to email that request to In the email, please include the student’s name, grade, and activities. (See sample below.)

Johnnie Doe,  9th grade,  lunch, field trip, dance

Jannie Doe,   3rd grade,  lunch, aftercare, field trip

Please email request by April 10th.  Requests will be processed as quickly as possible and you should receive a check in the mail by April 24th. Again, monies that are not refunded will be rolled over for next year.

Thank you all for your patience and hard work during these unprecedented times. We hope that you and your family remain safe and healthy.

Patriot Proud,

Jody Boulineau
