Accreditation Update (Year 2)

Year two:

Two representatives from the Georgia Accreditation Commission will conduct an on-site visit next month on April 24th. This will be the second of three visits that are required to complete the Accreditation Process. We have stayed in contact with our representative, Mr. Smith, and we are on track to be fully Accredited with Quality by the spring of 2020. Feel free to check out the following link for more details concerning accreditation:

Georgia School for Innovation and the Classics is happy to announce that we have successfully completed the first phase of the accreditation process. Our consultant from the Georgia Accrediting Commission made an on-site visit the last week of July and noted only a few standards that will need to be addressed before the third and final visit. We have met or exceeded the expectations for the majority of the criteria, and we anticipate meeting the remaining standards well in advance of the next visit. Our GAC representative assured us that all high school credits from this year and the years to follow will be transferrable.

After the third visit, our consultant and other officials from the Georgia Accrediting Commission will make the final visit to the school to confirm that the programs and services provided by our school continue to meet or exceed the standards established by the commission.

The Georgia Accrediting Commission has been serving schools since 1904. The mission of the Georgia Accrediting Commission is two-fold: (l) to establish standards promoting instruction of high quality for children in Georgia and (2) to encourage schools to meet the established standards. GAC provides an accreditation process designed to establish and uphold standards, to strengthen the quality of education in each school, and to assure its membership and the public that the established standards are related to the best educational practices.
