My name is Melissa Davenport, and I am so excited to serve our school as the Elementary Assistant Principal. I was born and raised in Hephzibah—just a few houses down from the school!

This will be my fourth year at GSIC and my sixteenth year in education. Throughout my career, I’ve taught Pre-K, Special Education, and, for the past three years here at GSIC, third grade.

I’m a proud three-time Georgia Southern Eagle, holding a Bachelor’s degree in Special Education, a Master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction, and Leadership.

I also have two of my own little Patriots here at GSIC, and I’m truly looking forward to serving our amazing school community in this new role. I have a deep passion for education and hope to inspire our students to develop a love of learning and become life-long learners.
